AN OVERVIEW OF THE NEW JERSEY CORRECTIONAL SYSTEM LOOKS AT PRESENT PROGRAMS IN CORRECTION, PAROLE AND PROBATION.
Abstract
THE DIVISION OF CORRECTION AND PAROLE HAS FOLLOWED A POLICY FOR TRAINING ITS OWN PERSONNEL. THERE IS A NEED FOR A CENTRAL PROGRAM. THE STATISTICS FROM A SURVEY IDENTIFY TRAINING NEEDS AND ESTABLISH GUIDELINES. TWO PILOT INSTITUTES ARE DESCRIBED WHICH DEFINE THE PROBLEMS. THE PROGRAM PLAN GIVES OUTLINES OF THE COURSES FOR LINE PERSONNEL AND SUPERVISORY PERSONNEL AS WELL AS PLANNED EVALUATION AND TESTING DESIGN.
