Abstract
THE EFFORT TO ESTABLISH THIS COLLECTION INCLUDED A SURVEY OF OVER 92 AGENCIES AND ORGANIZATIONS IN THE CITY, ENCOMPASSING GOVERNMENTAL AGENCIES, PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATIONS, PRIVATE RESEARCH GROUPS, AND UNIVERSITIES. ITS INTENT IS TO PROVIDE A BASIC RESOURCE DOCUMENT TO ASSIST RESEARCH EFFORTS. IT IS ALSO INTENDED TO GIVE PLANNERS, ADMINISTRATORS, AND OTHER MEMBERS OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA'S CRIMINAL JUSTICE COMMUNITY AN INFORMATION OVERVIEW OF THE CITY'S RECENT EFFORTS TO COMBAT THE CRIME PROBLEM. THE ITEMS PRESENTED IN PART ONE ARE IN STANDARD BIBLIOGRAPHIC FORM AND ARE GROUPED UNDER THE FOLLOWING SUBJECT AREAS: CORRECTIONS, COURTS, DRUGS, JUVENILES, POLICE, AND GENERAL CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM INFORMATION.
