THERE WERE 385 RELEASES WHO HAD A TERM OF SENTENCE OF 2 YEARS OR LESS, AND 788 WHO HAD A SENTENCE OF LESS THAN 10 YEARS. A TOTAL OF 1,824 FELONS WERE PAROLED DURING THE YEAR, OF WHICH 1,777 OR 97.4 PERCENT WERE FIRST RELEASES AND 47 OR 2.6 PERCENT WERE PAROLED AFTER HAVING BEEN RETURNED AS PAROLE VIOLATORS.
