Phoenix Police Department - Annual Report, 1981

NCJ Number
84485
Date Published
Unknown
Length
44 pages
Annotation
Crime declined in Phoenix, Ariz., for the first time in several years. The decrease is due, in part, to increased community awareness of and involvement in crime prevention programs such as Block Watch and Silent Witness.
Abstract
The report describes the functions and achievements of the Department's management and technical services, field operations, community services, and investigations divisions. Departmental statistics cover budget, personnel, crime Index trends and analysis, Part II offenses, adult and juvenile arrests, clearances, and traffic statistics. Data are also given on property stolen and dollar loss by offense, dollar value of narcotics seizures, and assaults on police officers. The department implemented team policing, developed automated traffic accident reports, and concluded a 'sting' operation to recover stolen property.
