Abstract
This resource is intended for professionals and practitioners in the field, as well as advanced undergraduate or graduate students, concerned with violence against women, family violence (to include: domestic violence, intimate partner violence, interpersonal violence, etc.), and violent crime. The work consists of 18 chapters subdivided into 3 parts: 1) theoretical and methodological issues in researching violence against women, 2) types of violence against women, and 3) prevention and direct intervention. The editors and contributing authors have crafted this work to encourage discussion and debate, and address issues of diversity and cultural contexts, as well as to examine inequalities of race and ethnicity, social class, physical ability, sexual orientation, and geographic location.
