A LIST OF PHOTOGRAPHIC TERMS AND DEFINITIONS MOST COMMONLY ENCOUNTERED IN BOTH WRITTEN AND SPOKEN LANGUAGE.
Abstract
THE TERMS AND DEFINITIONS WERE COMPILED FROM MANY SOURCES, INCLUDING DICTIONARIES, GLOSSARIES, TECHNICAL PUBLICATIONS, AND PROFESSIONAL LITERATURE. ACCEPTED DEFINITIONS WERE USED AS FOUND, REWRITTEN INTO SIMPLIER LANGUAGE, OR MODIFIED TO CONFORM THE CURRENT USAGE BY THE PHOTOGRAPHIC COMMUNITY. THE MAJORITY OF COMMONLY ENCOUNTERED PHOTOGRAPHIC TERMS HAVE BEEN DEFINED IN EASILY UNDERSTOOD LANGUAGE. APPROXIMATELY 1,200 TERMS ARE INCLUDED. THIS DOCUMENT WILL BE OF USE TO MEMBERS OF THE LAW ENFORCEMENT COMMUNITY THAT USE PHOTOGRAPHIC EQUIPMENT AND TECHNIQUES IN THE DAILY PERFORMANCE OF THEIR DUTIES; PROVIDING A CONCISE REFERENCE OF TERMS THAT ARE LIKELY TO BE ENCOUNTERED.
