THIS PAMPHLET DESCRIBES THE STRATHCLYDE POLICE YOUTH ADVISORY SERVICE, A PROGRAM AIMED AT THE PREVENTION OF DELINQUENCY BY POLICE SUPERVISION AND COUNSELING EITHER PRIOR TO OR IMMEDIATELY AFTER DELINQUENT BEHAVIOR.
Abstract
ALTHOUGH VOLUNTARY IN NATURE, REFERRALS ARE ACCEPTED FROM PARENTS, TEACHERS, COMMUNITY WORKERS, YOUTH LEADERS, CLERGY, AND OTHERS WHO MAY NOTICE IMPENDING DANGER OF OR PROPENSITY TO DELINQUENT BEHAVIOR IN YOUNG PERSONS (UNDER 16 YEARS OLD). FIRST-TIME PETTY OFFENDERS CAN ALSO BE ACCEPTED. CLIENTS RECEIVE SUPERVISION AND COUNSELING FROM POLICE AND/OR OTHER SOCIAL SERVICE AGENCIES.
