THE ORGANIZATION, RESOURCES, AND WORKLOADS OF THE COURTS THAT HANDLE CRIMINAL MATTERS IN NEW HAMPSHIRE ARE ANALYZED IN A REPORT INTENDED AS A TOOL FOR THE STATE'S CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANNERS.
Abstract
THE REPORT, WHICH IS ONE OF A SERIES SUPPORTING PREPARATION OF NEW HAMPSHIRE'S COMPREHENSIVE CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLAN, IS IN THREE SECTIONS: SUPREME COURT; SUPERIOR COURT; AND MUNICIPAL AND DISTRICT COURTS. EACH SECTION INCLUDES DESCRIPTIONS OF THE COURT'S FUNCTIONS AND JURISDICTION, ORGANIZATION, PERSONNEL, EQUIPMENT, FACILITIES, FUNDING, AND WORKLOAD. IN ADDITION, WORKLOAD STATISTICS FOR 1965 THROUGH 1975 ARE ANALYZED, TRENDS ARE IDENTIFIED, AND PROJECTIONS FOR CASES ENTERED, CASES DISPOSED, AND CASES PENDING FOR 1977 THROUGH 1984 ARE PRESENTED. THE ANALYSIS IS SUPPORTED BY 18 TABLES AND 12 GRAPHS. (LKM)
