Statistical data and narrative describe jail conditions and needs for each Iowa county, based on information compiled from a survey and onsite visits. Individual descriptions of each jail open during the needs assessment project cover staff, facility, and financial needs based on State jail standards. The report presents estimated recurring costs (for staff and training) and one-time costs (for facility and equipment) for each jail surveyed. The survey instrument is appended.
