Abstract
The focus is on arrests for Part I and Part II offenses, Part III activities, and Index crimes, as well as on detention, juvenile placement and aftercare, and on the Department of Youth Services. Data indicate the extent of juvenile involvement in overall crime and in specific offenses. The proportion of juveniles detained for status offenses is indicated, as is the overall trend in juvenile detentions. Detention by sex is also shown. Other statistics cover length of institutional stay, proportion of readmissions, family court referrals, intake referrals, and referral sources. Six references and 14 illustrations are included.
